Our Team

At the Sydney Institute of Plastic Surgery there is a team of administrative and support staff who are trained to offer comprehensive advice on all aspects of treatment and to facilitate your smooth admission to hospital for treatment.

We pride ourselves on the level of personal, courteous and comprehensive attention to your problems.

Nursing

Liz Brand

Liz Brand has been the Director of Nursing services at the Institute since 1979. Trained at Royal North Shore Hospital and experienced in all aspects of peri-operative nursing, Liz is the first point of contact for all clinical aspects of your condition.

She is responsible for the conduct of our day surgery facility and takes care of our patients before, during and after their operation.

She is available to give pre-consultation advice to patients enquiring about cosmetic surgery and will meet and advise prospective patients who are considering an operation, but have not yet scheduled an appointment with our surgeon.

Cate Brockbank

Cate BrockbankCate Brockbank trained at the famous Groote Schuur Hospital in Capetown, South Africa. She has since worked all over the world. She has worked in Paediatric and Adult Intensive Care Units in London and Australia.

Cate also has experience in accident and emergency nursing and has worked on film units for movies such as "Billy Elliott".

Her varied experience covers general nursing, occupational health, obesity clinic management, ICU, accident and emergency and surf life-saving. She has now chosen to work in the operating theatre with an interest in Plastic Surgery and Anaesthetics and Recovery.

Cate cares for our day stay patients in the recovery area and assists with dressings of patients in the post-operative phase of their treatment.

Jan Olbourne

Jan OlbourneJan Olbourne trained at Royal North Shore Hospital in general nursing. Her responsibilities at the Institute are primarily focused on general patient duties with specific control of the perioperative management of day stay and local anaesthetic procedures.

 

 

 


Administration

Judy Lush

Judy LushJudy Lush joined the Institute in 1998. She heads up the administrative team with primary responsibility for office management. She also assists with patient enquiries, appointment scheduling and all aspects of patient information including quotes for proposed surgeries.

 

 

 

Annie Rutherford

Annie Rutherford Annie Rutherford joined the Institute in 1980. Her domain is communications and records. Apart from attending to patient enquiries, Annie maintains our communications with referring doctors and ensures the Institute's records are orderly and complete.

 

 

 

Lyn Beilby

Lyn BeilbyLyn Beilby has been with the Institute since 2004. Lyn attends to all patient enquiries with scheduling, bookings and the smooth operation of clinics at different locations. She assumes prime responsibility for the smooth operation at the Institute and negotiates with medical funds to ensure the admission process is as smooth and seamless as possible.

 

 

Noreen French-Walsh

Noreen French-WalshNoreen French-Walsh joined the Institute early in 2007. She had previously worked as personal assistant to an eminent plastic surgeon in Dublin, Ireland. She assists in all aspects of client care, but has particular responsibility for coding and documentation of the procedures undertaken in our dedicated surgical facility. She also handles account enquiries from patients.

 

 

 

Skin Care Cosmetic Clinic

Damien Smith

Damien SmithDamien Smith has worked in plastic, cosmetic and laser surgery for almost twenty years. She joined the Institute in 2002 and has assumed responsibility for the non-surgical aspects of our modern, all encompassing cosmetic practice. She is available as a patient consultant for surgery - but is expert in skin care, IPL, wrinkle fillers and eliminators and fractional laser therapy.

 

 

Jelena Vucica

Jelena VucicaJelena Vucica is a fully qualified therapist with a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and skin care. After several years experience, she joined the Sydney Institute of Skin Rejuvenation and has been specifically trained in the use of all our technologically advanced procedures.

She administers the pre-operative and post-operative skin care programme. She is especially trained in the use of the Silkpeel® microdermal infusion system and the advanced Palomar® Starlux 500 Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) platform for photo rejuvenation of the skin and permanent hair reduction.

She is expert in the skin rejuvenation techniques of Fractionated laser therapy and is a certified safety officer in laser and IPL usage.
