Dr Olbourne's Practice Philosophy

Dr Olbourne has specialized in cosmetic plastic surgery for some time. The procedures at which he is considered expert include facial rejuvenation (face lift, eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty) and brow lift - which he performs endoscopically through a series of keyholes. At the Sydney Institute of Plastic Surgery, I make no claims about being the busiest plastic surgeon in the community. We do not boast about having performed the greatest number of breast augmentation surgeries in Australia or the most cosmetic procedures each year in Sydney. COSMETIC PLASTIC SURGERY IS NOT A CONVEYOR BELT. There is no value to our patients in being the busiest surgeon. What we value is personalized care - both before and after surgery - where our patients have direct access to their treating surgeon at all times.

High volume practices are unable to deliver such personalized service. Your care should not be delegated to a nurse or untrained "patient advocate" so that the practice can achieve a high volume of surgeries. At the Sydney Institute of Plastic Surgery - your pre-operative advice, your operation and the post-operative care are all managed personally by Dr Olbourne.

You should not risk your health and the result of your surgery by choosing the cheapest or the busiest surgeon available. Excellent outcomes in cosmetic surgery are all about the care and attention to detail that avoid complications where possible and rapid and timely intervention if something untoward does occur. You must be confident that your surgeon has the training and experience to deliver the result and the availability to attend to any post-operative concerns that may arise. In cosmetic surgery - quality of outcomes should always be paramount in your mind - rather than the claimed number of procedures or the seemingly less expensive option.
