Discharge Planning

If your procedure is to be performed in hospital, you need to discuss the length of your admission and the post-operative down time before you may resume normal activities. This may entail "stocking up" on provisions at home or arranging for transport home and assistance in the first few operative days. This is information that our experienced staff will assist you with.

If your procedure is to be performed at the Carswell Clinic Day Surgery Centre you will be having some form of anaesthesia or twilight sedation. You must not drive nor may you travel home unattended. Ensure that you discuss this with our head nurse Liz Brand and make the necessary arrangements beforehand.
