Financial Information
Cost of Surgery
Once your operation has been determined, Dr Olbourne and his staff will be able to provide you with an estimate of the costs of the surgery. This is a most confusing, but important, aspect of your treatment plan. The final cost to you depends on the type of surgery, your insurance status, the hospital we choose, the anaesthetist who cares for you, and whatever investigations and ancillary services required to provide you with the best possible care.
Surprisingly, some of the procedures regarded as "Cosmetic" do enjoy a rebate from Medicare and your health fund and therefore you can receive some reimbursement for your procedure. However, the process is complex and we have staff trained specifically to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit at the most economical cost.
It is a false economy to choose your surgeon based primarily on cost or downtime. Surgeons vary greatly in terms of skill and experience. Rather you should be mindful of your safety and achieving the desired outcome with a predictable and short downtime and confidence that your surgeon and his team will be there for you during the post-operative phase of treatment and if any problems arise.
Our team includes well trained specialist surgeons and anaesthetists of the highest calibre. Our nurses and patient support staff are trained to recognize that your comfort and privacy are the most important factors in achieving the optimal outcome from your surgery.
This attention to detail extends to the provision of financial advice where we will provide you with a comprehensive quote, not only of the surgical fee, but also of any add-on costs that are relevant and necessary to a safe and successful outcome.
